Kyajo Ri Climbing

Kyajo Ri climbing is an ideal objective if you want to climb a 6,000m peak and Everest base camp trek with more technical interest than many of the popular trekking peaks. Despite being situated just north of Namche Bazaar between the busy Thame and Gokyo valleys, it sees little attention from climbers. Base camp is placed in a secluded hanging valley at 4,500m, a couple of days walk from Thame, where Tenzing Norgay grew up. The climb itself utilizes two camps, camp 1 being at 5,300m and reached by crossing rough moraine. You then cross an easy-angled glacier and climb up steep screed and rock to arrive at camp 2 on a snowy col. From here, the route to the summit follows snow slopes of 50° to 55°, climbed at Scottish Grade II, under typical conditions. There is a rock wall which must be overcome and the summit is pointy and exposed.

Island Peak climbing is the other hilarious with in Everest Base Camp region is a fantastic experience while trekking in Nepal. It is designed for energetic and physically fit trekkers with little or no experience in mountain expedition. Island Peak (6,189m/20,305ft) is one of the main climbing peaks in the Everest Region of Nepal with an impressive and highly glaciated West Face that rises from the Lhotse Glacier. Being one of the 'trekking peaks' with very little technical aspects, Island Peak is not a difficult undertaking for a beginner climber wishing to enter the incredible world of mountain climbing. Hundreds of climbers flock to Nepal every year to get a permit for Island Peak climbing. Our adventure also takes us into the heartland of the Khumbu Valley and Sherpa culture. Before scaling the peak, we also visit, possibly the most popular trekking destination in the world - Everest Base Camp (5,357m/17,575ft) and Kalapatthar - for the up close views of Mt. Everest and other high mountains.
